At least 100 families lost their homes to a fire in Sampaloc, Manila
Manila: A residential area in the Philippines' Manila district and a commercial centre in suburban Marikina City were damaged by two separate incidents of fire, according to a radio report on Monday.
At least 100 families lost their homes at the corner of Legarda and Bustillos Streets in Sampaloc, Manila when a fire spread in the area at 12:38pm. Firemen reportedly struggled in containing the fire because of narrow alleys leading to the affected area.
No one was reported killed in the incident.
In Marikina City, a commercial establishment on Marcos Highway was on fire at 10:50am. Firefighters controlled the blaze at around 11:27am. No one was reportd killed or hurt in the incident.
