Islamabad: Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf swore in new Prime Minister Makhdoom Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday.
It comes a day after parliament elected the top official from assassinated opposition leader Benazir Bhutto's party.
In an apparent snub to Musharraf, Bhutto's widower and their son declined to attend the ceremony.
Gilani's election on Monday marked the country's return to full civilian democratic rule.
