Pakistani Taliban withdraw from peace talks

Islamabad: The Taliban leader in Pakistan has withdrawn from peace talks with the government, after the army refused to pull out from tribal areas, a militant spokesman said on Monday.

Tribal leaders in Pakistan's South Waziristan are in the process of brokering a peace deal between the government and the Al Qaida ally who heads Pakistan's Taliban.

But the militant group's spokesman said the dialogue process has ended because the army refused to withdraw forces from the region along the Afghan border.
