Lahore: The Punjab provincial government was placed in an awkward position on Friday as authorities wrongly put up banners with pictures of Russian President Vladimir Putin while welcoming the President of Tatarstan to visit the country.
The banners had photos of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with Putin instead of with Rustam Minnikhanov, who began his three-day visit to Pakistan on Friday, Geo News reported.
The pictures of the Russian strongman were removed after the local administration was mocked by social media users.
