Peshawar: Pakistani police say suspected militants have attacked a transport terminal handling supplies for Nato troops in neighbouring Afghanistan.
Police official Ghafoor Khan Afridi say dozens of attackers stormed the terminal near the northwestern city of Peshawar early Wednesday and set fire to eight trucks.
Afridi said none of the containers containing Nato supplies stored at the terminal were damaged.
Officials blame Taliban militants for a recent spate of attacks on terminals and truck convoys en route through the nearby Khyber Pass to Afghanistan.
Nato and US commanders insist the attacks pose no threat to their operations in Afghanistan. Still, they but have begun seeking alternatives to the main routes through Pakistan.
