Crash between car and bus comes soon after fatal gas tanker incident

Thiruvananthapuram: Even as Kannur district in Kerala was recovering from the shock of a gas tanker crash that claimed one life and seriously injured more than three dozen people, another road smash took three lives in neighbouring Malappuram district in the north of the state.

The car-bus smash incident at Kuttipuram in Malappuram claimed the lives of Sumeera (22), Krishnankutty (30) and the car driver. Three othes were injured in the incident, of whom Subramanyan and Padmavati were admitted to a private hospital at Edappal.

The incident happened around 7am Tuesday. The car was headed to Guruvayur and the bus to Kozhikode. All the deceased were in the car.
