Four-storey building near metro station collapses as foundation of nearby building is laid

New Delhi: At least three people are believed to have been killed when a building collapsed in West Delhi Saturday.

The four-storey building was situated near Uttam Nagar metro station. The building collapsed when the foundation for another upcoming building adjoining this was being laid.

The fire brigade, which rushed seven fire tenders to the spot, however, refused to confirm the number of died and injured saying their personnel were going through the rubble of the collapsed building.

According to local residents, a family of seven lived in the collapsed building. It is not yet clear if all members of the family were inside when it crashed.
