A shocking incident in Andhra Pradesh has sparked public fury after a video showed BC Madan Bhupal Reddy, brother of Roads and Buildings Minister BC Janardhan Reddy, slapping a police constable on duty. The video quickly went viral on social media platforms like X and WhatsApp, drawing widespread condemnation.

The incident occurred Wednesday evening at a temple in Kolimigundla, Nandyal district. Constable Jaswanth was managing security at the religious site when he stopped Madan Bhupal Reddy from entering a restricted area. Eyewitnesses say Reddy, angered by the officer's refusal, stepped forward and slapped him in full public view.

The assault was captured by bystanders and circulated widely, sparking outrage among the public and calls for accountability.

Opposition parties were quick to react, labelling the act a gross abuse of power. "This is not just an attack on a police officer, but an attack on the rule of law," one opposition leader said, demanding Minister Janardhan Reddy's resignation.

The state government has yet to issue an official response, as the incident continues to fuel debate over political privilege and the dignity of uniformed officers.
