Dubai: Raise your mug every morning in salute to the Mumbai spirit, say a team of three young Dubai-based Indians ahead of the Mumbai terror attack anniversary.

Prateek Choudhry, Chitra Jayabalan and Prakash Rai have created mugs that carry inscriptions and art works that speak about the determination of Mumbai — never to buckle down in times of adversities.

About 500 mugs will be distributed free to celebrate the spirit of Mumbai.

"The idea behind distributing mugs is to make every Indian to raise their mugs in respect of those who laid their lives on November 26 last year.

Small note

The mugs are packed with a small note that says: "Use this cup every day or just display it with pride. Make it your very own heartfelt salute, to the resilience of a city and its people. Thereby sparing a thought for every spirited Mumbaikar, in your very own way", said Prateek who along with Jaya last year printed a thousand T-shirts with ‘Mumbai United' printed right across it.

"This was immediately after the terror struck Mumbai and we thought instead of watching terror pictures on television why not get something done and so we put down our heads together and came up with the idea of T-shirts," he added.

Pooled

The cost of the T-shirts and the mugs was shared between Prateek and his two friends.

"The T-shirts and the mugs are our way of expressing our emotions and sentiments for the people of Mumbai. We will be distributing the mugs at the Indian missions as well. I have sent the art works created on the mugs to my friends worldwide and requested them to do exactly what we are doing in Dubai.

"It's one year since the attack took place in Mumbai and I think there is no point in talking about what has not been done or should be done. Why don't we think and talk about our achievements," said Prateek.
