Olympic torch arrives in New Delhi

New Delhi: The Olympic torch arrived in New Delhi on Thursday but was met immediately by protests from the world's largest community of exiled Tibetans.

Demonstrators have vowed to disrupt its passage through the Indian capital.

Some 15,000 police will be out in force later on Thursday to safeguard the torches passage. The route has already been shortened because of anticipated demonstrations.

Police had already detained over 20 protesters early Thursday.
