New Delhi: The two-day national executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is scheduled to start here today.

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and leader of Opposition Lal Krishna Advani will speak at the conclave.

This is the first BJP national executive under party president Rajnath Singh.

The BJP is likely to set its sights on the next round of Assembly elections due early next year.

The BJP national executive is also likely to decide on a timetable for organisational elections.

Membership drive by state units will be reviewed and it was tentatively decided that the party elections should be completed by November this year.

The BJP is expected to release a document on the non-performance of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, against the backdrop of the government completing two years in office.
