Boy, 5, dies after falling from giant kite in Vietnam

Hanoi: A 5-year-old boy has died in Ho Chi Minh City after getting trapped in the lines of a giant kite and falling to the ground while it was in flight, authorities said on Monday.

The boy is believed to have gotten tangled in the lines while members of the Saigon Kite Club were preparing to launch the 18-metre-wide kite, an official from Hoc Mon district police department said. 

The accident happened late on Sunday. The boy was rushed to hospital but was later declared dead.
