Wife attacks husband Bobbitt-style

Los Angeles: A woman who allegedly laced her husband's dinner with drugs and then cut off his penis with a ten-inch kitchen knife could face a life sentence if convicted in the attack.

Catherine Kieu Becker, 48, allegedly told police her husband ‘deserved it' when they arrived at the couple's home in California.

Police said they do not have a motive in the Monday evening attack, though court records showed the couple, who had been married for eleven-and-a-half years, had begun divorce proceedings in May.

Lt Jeff Nightengale of the Garden Grove Police Department, said: "We don't have any strong motive leading to this level of violence." The 51-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was taken to hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Becker was arrested on suspicion of aggravated mayhem, and a number of other charges.
