Rio De Janeiro: At least eight people were killed and 63 injured when a train packed with commuters crashed into another train on the outskirts on Rio de Janeiro on Thursday.
Over 100 rescue workers were helping move people from the wreckage, said a spokeswoman for the mayor's office of Nova Iguacu, a suburb of Rio. Dozens of ambulances were at the crash site
Fire fighters said the death toll could rise.
One of the trains was switching between tracks and the other rammed into the end of the train. Around 800 people were believed to be on the passenger train but the second train was empty except for the crew.
