COVID-19: EU signing Pfizer contract 'soon' for 300-million doses of vaccine

Brussels: The European Union said Monday that it was very close to signing a contract with drugs firms Pfizer and BioNTech for 300 million doses of a future new coronavirus vaccine.

"European science works!" declared Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, congratulating the US and German companies after they claimed a breakthrough.
