Dubai Municipality has kicked off the second edition of the Hatta Farming Festival as part of the ‘Dubai Farms’ programme, an initiative led by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs. The festival began at Leem Lake.This year’s event features 25 Emirati farmers, homesteaders, and local agricultural companies, showcasing various farming products and services. The festival aims to promote the UAE’s expanding agricultural sector, encourage collaboration among local producers, and highlight sustainable farming practices.

The Hatta Farming Festival is part of the Hatta Winter initiative, launched under the guidance and support of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The festival serves as a platform to strengthen the local agricultural community and contribute to the growth of the region’s rural economy.The event underscores Dubai’s ongoing commitment to enhancing food security, supporting local farmers, and promoting agricultural innovation in the UAE. It also aligns with broader government efforts to diversify the economy and foster sustainable development across the emirate.
