Participants were told to call 999 for emergencies and 901 for non-emergency cases
Dubai Police held an awareness event for the Filipino community during the Community Basketball Tournament at the Dubai Club for People of Determination.
The event focused on cybercrime, including online extortion, electronic fraud, and financial transaction-related offenses. Officers also provided crucial information on traffic safety laws and regulations.
Around 600 participants learned how to reach Dubai Police. They were told to call 999 for emergencies and 901 for non-emergencies. The event also highlighted Dubai Police's various services that enhance security and promote community well-being and happiness.
Ms. Fatima Buhajeer, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council and Head of the Cultural Diversity Section, highlighted that the awareness event accompanying the ‘Community Basketball Tournament’ underscores Dubai Police's ongoing commitment to educating all communities in Dubai, especially the youth. “This initiative is essential for empowering them to communicate effectively with police and protect themselves against online fraud, while raising awareness of local laws and traffic safety regulations,” she added.
Ms. Buhajeer further noted that the event aligns with Dubai Police's continuous efforts to enhance the quality of life, foster social harmony, and promote the values of tolerance, coexistence, and respect for others.
