Weather update: Rain in Ras Al Khaimah, rough sea alert, cloudy across UAE

Slight dip in temperatures, strong winds to blow dust across the country

Dubai: On Thursday evening, Ras Al Khaimah experienced light to moderate rain, which refreshed the area's climate. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported rain in Jabal Yanas around 1pm, in Shaam, Khor Khaiwar, along the Jebel Jais mountain road, and in Ras Al Dhabrah around 3:30pm. This rainfall caused a noticeable drop in temperatures, making the weather cooler and more comfortable across the entire country.

Also, If you are planning to visit the beach, please exercise caution as a rough sea alert has been issued. The NCM has warned that the Oman Sea will experience turbulent conditions, with northwesterly winds reaching speeds of 40 km/h and wave heights expected to reach up to six feet.

Temperatures are expected to decrease. The weather across the country is currently partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging from 21°C to 24°C this evening. 

The lowest temperature recorded over the country this morning was 6.7°C in Jais Mountain (Ras Al Khaimah) at 06:15am.

The NCM also warns residents to be on the lookout for fog or mist formation in some western areas, later in the night.

Those with dust allergies should take precautions, as light to moderate winds are anticipated, especially in northern regions, where wind speeds could reach up to 40 km/h.

The weather forecast for tomorrow, Friday, 28 February 2025, is mostly fair with some clouds at times. It will be humid by night and on Saturday morning in some areas, with a chance of fog or mist forming. Expect light to moderate northwesterly winds, which will be stronger over the sea and may cause dust to blow during the day. Wind speeds will range from 15 to 25 km/hr, reaching up to 40 km/hr at times. The sea will be rough in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
