UAE weather: Fog and rainfall to be expected this week

Dubai: Foggy conditions to continue across parts of the UAE, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts. Early this morning, the NCM also issued a rain alert over island areas, as well as some northern areas of UAE.

According to the NCM, humid conditions are to be expected tonight, with a chance of fog or mist formation over some internal areas tomorrow morning.

The highest temperature recorded today was 29.5 degree Celsius in Kalba area in Sharjah. Meanwhile, the lowest temperature recorded was 8.6 degree Celsius in Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah.

This week’s forecast

According to the NCM, clear to partly cloudy skies are to be expected with a gradual decrease in temperature on Wednesday, January 29.

A probability of fog or mist formation over some internal and coastal areas are to be expected on Thursday and Sunday morning.

The forecast also states there will be a chance of rain over some northern and eastern areas across the UAE, on Thursday and Friday, January 30 and 31 respectively.

Winds will be light to moderate, and freshening at times, with speeds reaching up to 40 km/hr.
