NCM reports potential rainfall in the east as temps peak at 49°C in the interior regions
Dubai: The UAE is bracing for another sweltering day as temperatures soar across the country, with forecasters warning of dangerous heat levels in several areas.
According to AccuWeather, Dubai will experience very warm and hazy conditions, peaking at 42°C today. The evening will offer little relief, remaining clear and very warm with a low of 34°C. As of this morning, the actual temperature in Dubai is 34°C, but the real feel is a blistering 40°C, under clear, sunny skies.
In Abu Dhabi, conditions are even more extreme, with temperatures expected to hit a scorching 45°C. Authorities have issued cautions as outdoor activities are considered dangerous due to the excessive heat. Tonight’s forecast predicts clear skies with temperatures dropping slightly to 35°C.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) adds that today's weather will be fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of convective cloud formation in eastern and southern regions by the afternoon, potentially bringing localized rainfall.
Across the interior regions, temperatures are forecast to range between 44°C and 49°C, while coastal and island areas will see highs of 40°C to 45°C. Mountainous areas are expected to remain slightly cooler, between 34°C and 39°C.
Yesterday’s highest recorded temperature was a staggering 47.9°C, measured in Bada Dafas in the Al Dhafra region at 12.45 pm.
Winds will be light to moderate, strengthening with cloud activity and possibly reaching speeds of 50 km/h, particularly from the southeast to northeast. These gusts may result in blowing dust and sand, reducing visibility in affected areas.
Maritime conditions remain calm, with slight seas expected in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Authorities are urging residents and visitors to limit outdoor exposure, stay hydrated, and avoid strenuous activities during peak daylight hours. The intense heat, combined with strong winds and dust, poses serious health and safety risks.
