Dubai: Motorists across the UAE should be on high alert today! The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued yellow and red weather alerts due to dense fog expected to blanket parts of the country. Visibility will be drastically reduced, so extra care is required on the roads.
Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are facing the heaviest fog. Key areas like Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Road, Al Ajban, Sweihan Road, Al Wathbah, Al Faya, in Abu Dhabi and Al Khazna in Al Ain are particularly affected. Abu Al Abyad Bridge toward Al Mirfa in Al Dhafra was also shrouded in thick fog this morning. Fog will persist until 9:30am so plan accordingly and stay vigilant.
Drivers are advised to drive slowly and carefully due to poor visibility on the roads due to fog. Watch out for sudden changes in weather as the day progresses.
According to the NCM, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times especially by evening over some Northern, Eastern and Coastal areas with a chance of rainfall.
The maximum temperatures in the internal regions of the country are expected to be between 23 and 27°C. Temperatures will reach highs of 22 to 26°C in the coastal areas and islands and 15 to 19°C over the mountains.
It is going to be humid by night and Thursday morning over some internal areas.
Light to moderate winds, freshening at times in the Northeast to Northwest direction at the speed 10 to 25 reaching 35km/hr.
The sea will be relatively calm to moderate, becoming rough by night in the Arabian Gulf and slight in Oman Sea.
