Dubai: Forecasters have advised residents with respiratory ailments to take precautions, especially those living in the northern and eastern parts of the country, as dusty conditions will prevail with some rain over the next three days.

“The country is under the influence of northeasterly and northwesterly wind — fresh to strong at times in the northern and eastern parts of the UAE. Ras Al Khaimah and neighbouring areas will experience dusty conditions on Wednesday and Thursday. This instability in weather will be limited to coastal areas and over the islands where a low pressure exists,” a forecaster from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) told Gulf News.

The forecaster also warned that the northern parts of the Arabian Gulf extending until Dubai and the Oman Sea will be rough to very rough with offshore waves reaching 7 feet to 10 feet in height from Wednesday to Friday.

There is no significant difference expected in temperature because the same air mass is affecting the country. The coastal areas will have an average temperature of 28 degree Celsius to 30C, internal areas 30C to 32C while the mountains will have 23C to 26C.

The good news for those praying for rain is that some showers may come on Thursday and Friday.

“Clouds will also start increasing on Wednesday in the northern and eastern parts of the UAE and will gradually approach some coastal areas between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai. Rain will be more in the sea, but it may reach the city.”
