Urges motorists in UAE to follow safe practices during foggy conditions

ABU DHABI: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has urged motorists in the UAE to follow traffic regulations and stick to safe driving practices as there is a chance of fog formation on Friday.

In a statement today, NCM warned of a deterioration in horizontal visibility, which may drop even further over some coastal and internal areas from 02:00 am to 10:00 am on Friday.

According to the NCM, foggy conditions were reported over Al Dhafra region and over some parts of Abu Dhabi. Additionally, red and yellow fog alerts were also issued for these regions.

Motorists were urged to follow safety measures, which include keeping safe distance between vehicles, not turning on hazard lights, keeping to the posted speed limit, and keeping to your lane while on the road.

Temperature highs in the coastal region are expected to be between 21 and 25 degree Celsius, while the temperature lows are expected to be between 12 and 17 degree Celsius, in coastal region.

Light to moderate winds are to be expected across the country, with speeds reaching up to 35 km/hr in the coastal region.
