Also, Emiratis now make up 38 per cent of its workforce

Dubai: Union Coop, one of Dubai’s largest retail cooperatives, announced significant progress in Emiratisation and women’s empowerment, Al Khaleej newspaper reported.
According to new figures released by the organisation, Emiratis now make up 38 per cent of its workforce, while women account for 25 per cent of all employees, a development the company says reflects its commitment to strengthening national talent and expanding the role of Emirati women in leadership.
Mohammed Al Hashemi, CEO of Union Coop, said the results are the product of long-term strategic policies aimed at investing in Emirati human capital and building a pipeline of national professionals capable of contributing to the country’s economic growth.
He noted that the cooperative is proud to be among the national institutions leading efforts in Emiratisation and gender inclusion. The organisation, he said, is working to further increase Emirati participation in the coming period, in line with federal and local targets, while continuing to champion the capabilities of Emirati women and their contributions to institutional performance and future-oriented development.
“We are committed to translating the vision of our wise leadership into practical action,” Al Hashemi said.
He added that Union Coop continues to build a flexible and supportive work environment that empowers women to advance professionally while maintaining a healthy work–life balance.
The cooperative is also investing in youth development through ongoing training and qualification programmes designed to ensure the sustainability of national talent across its various departments.
