Saif Saeed bin Saed, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary, yesterday reiterated the UAE's rejection of all forms of terrorism including the state terrorism practised by Israel against the Palestinian people.
In a speech at a seminar organised by the Foreign Ministry's Institute of Diplomacy on changes brought by the events of September 11, Saed said that the UAE rejected terrorism in all its forms and called for the making of distinction between terrorism and the right of people for resistance against occupation and struggle for independence.
He said that the UAE's foreign policy laid down by President His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was based on the country's keen desire to co-operating with the international community in making a balance between fighting terrorism and finding solutions for its root causes.
Saed also called upon the world community to put an end to Israeli state terrorism against the Palestinian people, which he said was a flagrant violation against international legitimacy.
Dr. Yousuf Al Hassan, director of the institute, who chaired one of the sessions also affirmed the importance of understanding the American psyche, and rewriting the Arab political, media and educational rhetoric in order to achieve Arab aspired goals and safeguard the future.
