UAE progress result of Zayed foresight

Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, said yesterday the UAE's achievements in the past 30 years are testimony to a pioneering experiment in creativity and determination.

In a statement to mark the UAE's 30 National Day, Sheikh Sultan said the foresight of President His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan combined with a unique moment in history to produce a model of development and progress.

Sheikh Zayed's vision of the future was shared by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates and His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

This 30th anniversary is a celebration of the achievements of these leaders and an opportunity to demonstrate our unity and loyalty to them.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Isa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Undersecretary of the Public Works Department hailed the UAE's progress under the guidance of Sheikh Zayed.

Sheikh Isa said that the country is reaping the fruit of 30 years of hard work which has transformed the UAE from a desert into a country of green gardens, an advanced infrastructure and a vibrant economy.

He said that great strides of development have been made on all sectors such as health, education, agriculture, petroleum and industrial sectors and construction of infrastructure.

"The UAE works with other Arab countries to solve the Arab nation's crucial issues," Sheikh Isa said.

He added that the President had made great efforts to strengthen the role of federal institutions in meeting the needs of the citizens.
