Ras Al Khaimah: Two Emirati girls, aged 14 and 15, died when their recreational motorcycle was hit by a private vehicle on an internal road in Ras Al Khaimah on Saturday, police said on Sunday.

Ras Al Khaimah Police reported that a 37-year-old driver collided with a motorcycle carrying two girls due to inattention, resulting in the children’s deaths.

The Police Operations Room received an accident report on Saturday evening, prompting the immediate dispatch of patrols and the National Ambulance to the scene. The two girls died from severe injuries sustained in the collision and were transported by the National Ambulance to the hospital for transfer to their families.

The driver involved in the accident was detained, and the police authorities are handling the case to complete the investigation and pursue legal action.

Ras Al Khaimah Police urged drivers to exercise caution, adhere to traffic regulations and speed limits, and avoid distractions to prevent accidents that jeopardise innocent lives.
