Truck driver injured in collision

Dubai: A truck driver was injured in a collision with another truck in the early hours of yesterday on Emirates Road on the way to Sharjah.

Police said the 41-year-old Pakistani driver, A.S., who caused the accident, got trapped in the truck as a result of the collision.

The accident took place at 3am yesterday when A.S. hit the other truck from the back as a result of speeding. He sustained moderate injuries.

Lieutenant Abdullah Al Rahoomi from Dubai Police's Rescue Department said the difficult missions team had to cut the front sides of the truck to free the driver using hydraulic equipment.
