Traffic congestion between Dubai, Northern Emirates to be eased

Abu Dhabi | Dubai: The UAE is conducting a study to reduce traffic congestion on federal roads between Dubai and the Northern Emirates, a minister said on Wednesday.

Suhail Mohammed Faraj Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said the study is aimed at implementing projects to reduce congestion on federal roads between Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Rollout 

These initiatives are expected to be rolled out in the second half of 2024.

The announcement came in response to a question by Adnan Hamad Al Hammadi, member of the Federal National Council (FNC), on traffic congestion between Dubai and the Northern Emirates, during the third session of the first ordinary session of the 18th legislative term of the FNC.

Leveraging AI

Al Mazrouei said: “We are leveraging artificial intelligence systems and modern technologies to identify the root causes of traffic congestion between Dubai and the Northern Emirates and address it during specific timeframes. Traffic congestion is a common challenge faced by cities worldwide.”

He said the UAE roads, which are ranked among the Top 10 globally, undergo continuous development, particularly in transport networks.
