Dubai: Police has called on motorists to abide by traffic rules and avoid putting pictures or decorations on the front and rear windows of their cars to avoid accidents during the march which will take place on the occasion of the National Day.

Lieutenant Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Deputy Director of Dubai Police's Traffic Department, said the traffic department will increase the number of traffic patrols during the march.

He said traffic police will not be lenient with motorists who will put pictures and decorations on the front and rear windows of their cars in a way that reduces visibility.

He called on motorists to abide by traffic rules and avoid decorating the front and rear windows of their cars with pictures and decorations as this may lead to low visibility and the accidents. Al Mazroui also warned motorists from holding marches without police's knowledge, as they will be fined and their cars will be confiscated. He called on public to cooperate with police.

Traffic on both directions of Jumeirah Road will be diverted to other key roads for the National Day march.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that traffic will be diverted in both directions of Jumeirah Road today in a sector extending from Dubai Zoo intersection to Union Square intersection. Traffic will be diverted to key roads such as Al Wasl Road, Al Diyafa Road, Al Mina Road and the internal roads surrounding the closure area.

The road diversion will be implemented from 1pm to 7pm to make way for the march.
