Pick-up truck overturns, spilling watermelons on to Dubai's Emirates Road

Dubai: A pick-up truck loaded with watermelons overturned on Emirates Road and caused long tailbacks on Wednesday. Police closed the road to clear the crushed watermelons.

Police said the driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Motorists on Emirates Road, who were heading towards Sharjah, were stranded for a while.

The accident took place near Al Rashdiyah Bridge around 1pm.

The road has been cleared and traffic started to move smoothly after a while.
