Parallel Roads to open in Business Bay district in mid of 2011

Dubai: The Parallel Roads project in the Business Bay area will be completed in the first half of 2011, confirmed a top official at the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

"Work on the Parallel Roads in the Business Bay district is progressing as planned," said Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA.
 
He said the first phase of the project would be completed by the end of the first half of next year, while the project would be fully completed by the end of next year.

Al Tayer, who toured the site to inspect the progress in the work, said construction of the roads through the Business Bay districts is the most important part of the Parallel Roads Project, which is new road corridor in the area between Shaikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.

Al Tayer was briefed on the work progress of the project which aims at complementing the internal roads in the Business Bay district in an area located between Shaikh Zayed Road in the North, Meydan Road in the West, Financial Centre Road in the East and Al Khail Road in the South.

The Parallel Roads pass through numerous old and new developments including Emirates Hills, Jebel Ali Racecourse and Springs, Meadow.
