Sharjah: The Sharjah Police announced on Sunday that issuance and renewal of vehicle registration, including applications to replace lost or damaged registration cards, will soon be issued online only.

Colonel Ali Bualzod, Director of Vehicles and Drivers’ Licensing Department at Sharjah Police, said that police will start online-only issuance and renewal of vehicle registration at licensing service centres starting on October 1.

The driving license centres will not receive any request that isn't done through online application starting October 1.

The new service works if a vehicle has an up-to-date test certificate and insurance, Colonel Bualzod said.

Motorists have to log on to the Ministry of Interior’s website to obtain their vehicle registration.

The initiative aims to facilitate services to customers and enable them to complete their transactions through smart applications.

The public can avail of the service anytime and anywhere he said.

The Ministry of Interior’s application can also be downloaded on mobile phones.

Motorists will receive an electronic registration on their mobile phone, and the courier company will deliver the document within 48 hours of receipt of the request.

Sharjah Police offered the generous discount on traffic fines as part of the police force's Golden Jubilee celebrations. Traffic tickets must be settled before the end of December 2017.
