Sharjah: Motorists in Sharjah can now renew vehicle registration more easily by clearing the motor inspection process through an app.

Sharjah Police, in collaboration with their strategic partner Rafid Vehicle Solutions, have launched the service on the ‘Rafid’ app.

The initiative targets private vehicles with Sharjah license plates, provided that the vehicle is no more than eight years old and that no more than 18 months have passed since its last technical inspection.

Users can click on the ‘Remote Inspection’ icon on the app, follow the steps, and take clear photos of the required aspects of the car according to the standards specified in the app to verify that the vehicle is free from accident damage. This saves time and effort for the technical inspection without the need to visit traditional inspection centres.

Company-owned vehicles are not eligible for the service.

Colonel Khaled Mohammed Al Kay, director of the Vehicle and Driver Licensing Department at Sharjah Police, said the initiative comes within the framework of the emirate’s digital transformation and aims to facilitate procedures by providing smart government services that meet individuals’ needs efficiently and quickly.

Ahmed Jumaa Al Mashreq, CEO of Rafid, Company, said the service represents a qualitative leap in developing the vehicle sector and providing easy and fast services to the community.

Rafid Vehicle Solutions is a subsidiary of Sharjah Asset Management, the investment arm of the Sharjah government.

Remote Inspection covers
