Dubai: The scene was all too familiar: Beirut Road clogged with vehicles in the evening. But there was just one difference last Sunday: an ambulance carrying a two-year-old child was stuck in the middle. The seconds were ticking ...

And then a drone of a helicopter broke the stillness of the night.

Sulaiman, a Yemeni child, had fallen from the bed at his house. His mother panicked on seeing his bruised face. Her husband was stuck in traffic on Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road. He called the police operations room out of desperation.

An ambulance picked up Sulaiman from his house, but it soon found itself surrounded by vehicles. The helicopter landed near the intersection and flew him to Rashid hospital.
