Police remind motorists of vehicle decoration rules for UAE National Day

Abu Dhabi: Decking up vehicles to celebrate the UAE National Day will be permitted, Abu Dhabi Police said on Monday.

However, advised motorists to observe the following:

1. Motorists may decorate their vehicles for National Day celebrations from November 22 to December 6.

2. Avoid spraying foam and colours, overloading the vechicle or carrying more than the specified number of passengers.

3. Avoid colouring the front windscreen and putting sun shield and obey traffic rules.

4. Don’t get out of the car windows and sunroof. 

5. Avoid incessant shouting or equipping vehicles with hyper sound-emitting mechanism or accelerating, or putting flag or other things on the car that block the driver’s view.

6. Avoid parking the car on the road.

7. Do not cover number plates.

8. Do not change vehicle colour. 

9. Avoid throwing trash on the road.

Brigadier Khalifa Mohammad Al Khaili, director of traffic, also said: “Do not damage public property and avoid causing hurdles to others.” He urged youngster to obey the rules while marking the 46th National Day of the country.

However, the police is well prepared to ensure safety and security of all public during the National Day celebrations, he said.
