Free parking for nine days in the capital

Abu Dhabi: The Department of Transport (DoT) said Mawaqif will offer free parking in Abu Dhabi over the Eid Al Adha and national Day holidays. Regular parking fees will commence as normal from December 5.

Najib Al Zarooni, general manager of parking at the department, said all Mawaqif controlled areas in Abu Dhabi will be free for residents and visitors over the holiday period.

Al Zarooni advised motorists to follow the traffic laws and not to misuse the parking spaces during this holiday period. As always, it is recommended that vehicles refrain from parking illegally on the pavement, blocking roads and parking spaces in order to avoid fines.

The Department of Transport introduced Mawaqif in October 2009 as part of its strategic plan to find the best possible solutions for transport and traffic-related issues.
