Sharjah: Sharjah Police have fined a total of 21,067 truckers till November 30 this year for violating traffic rules on highways and other roads.

Lieutenant Colonel Dr Ahmad Saeed Al Naour, acting director of the Traffic and Patrol Department, said the violations committed by drivers of heavy vehicles included 15,462 violations of driving in unauthorised areas and 3,007 offences of faulty tyres, 1,561 lane discipline violations, 755 overloading and 175 offence of operation of industrial and construction vehicles, tractors and mechanical devices without permission, in addition to 107 violation of dangerous overtaking and driving a heavy vehicle.
