Abu Dhabi: Twenty-four awareness programmes attended by 1,200 farm workers were set up last month in Abu Dhabi city by the Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate.

The initiative aimed to educate labourers, heavy and light vehicle drivers on road safety and the prevention of run-over accidents.

Due to the nature of their jobs which often take place on the sides of roads the lectures addressed issues regarding making use of over- and underpasses when crossing streets and correctly assessings vehicles’ speeds as they pass.
