Khalifa receives winners of Al Dhafra camel festival

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan received yesterday at his Bateen Palace, winners of the Al Dhafra Camel Festival 2010.
The meeting, which was attended by General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, comes as part of Shaikh Khalifa's keenness in preserving the UAE's heritage, traditions and social values.

The gathering included Hamdan Ganem Al Falahi, and Rashid Ali Bin Nus Al Mansouri who won the Al Bairaq award for the camel beauty pageant, held as part of the country's largest annual heritage event
The reception mirrored the keenness of the President and his attention for reviving the heritage, customs, traditions and the indigenous social values perpetuated through generations by way of inheriting them from the forefathers.
The President asserted his keenness to support and promote the culture of traditional events and festivals, as they represent the important means for educating the new generations and the conservation of heritage, customs and traditions. Shaikh Khalifa congratulated the festival winners, wishing them further success in upholding the country's name in local and regional festivals and activities.
Abu Dhabi (WAM): President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ordered the distribution of 800 pieces of land to deserving UAE nationals.
The move comes to achieve the vision of Abu Dhabi 2030, and the Abu Dhabi strategic plan 2008-2012 in offering a decent, stable and secure life for UAE nationals.
The lands distributed by Shaikh Khalifa are to cover those living in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western region.
This award comes in line with the President's keenness to offer a good life for all the people in the UAE.
The concerned municipal sections started carrying out Shaikh Khalifa's orders by preparing the infrastructure and service facilities essential for transforming the new residential areas into model urban oasis with high quality services that include schools, police stations, health units, mosques, social clubs, gardens and parks, in addition to shopping centers.
