Top police officer's father killed

Abu Dhabi: A top police officer's father was killed in a car crash near Sila on Monday.

Ten others, including two children, were injured in the crash.

The two young boys were admitted to a hospital and are still in intensive care at the Shaikh Khalifa Medical City after suffering serious injuries in the accident.

The father of the police officer of Abu Dhabi Police, died in the accident that occurred late in the afternoon, said an official, who requested not to be named.

"Two cars were involved in the accident. The injured were air lifted to the hospital from the accident spot and included UAE nationals and Bangladeshis," the official said.

In another accident that occurred along the airport road on Tuesday morning, at least six people sustained minor injuries in the crash.
