Blended by creating designs through the medium of art and then giving it shape and expression in the form of clothing, today fashion has created a pedestal on its own. But its root, the creative art form cannot remain far behind, as it is aesthetically a part of the same body.
Blended by creating designs through the medium of art and then giving it shape and expression in the form of clothing, today fashion has created a pedestal on its own. But its root, the creative art form cannot remain far behind, as it is aesthetically a part of the same body.
Fashion is ultimately an art form and to emphasise the same, an artist and a team of fashion designers got together to produce a unique collection.
Bangalore-based Yusuf Arakkal joined hands with the design team of SDS (Sheetal Design Studio), monitored by the famous pageant designer Hemant Trivedi, to create 'Dance of the Kites', giving a breath of fresh air to fashion.
"I never drew a line between fashion designing and art," says Arakkal, believing that both are different forms of creativity. "So combining fashion design did not pose any moral challenge or practical difficulties. Here it was a case of a team of brilliant designers finding inspiration from my already existing works of the kite theme which was really heartening and satisfying for me as an artist," he added.
