Testing the intelligence

A Quiz Night was organised by the Student Council Association of the Al Ain Women's College. Questions on the UAE, general knowledge, word power and puzzles along with Arabic and English songs made up the programme.

Student advisor Tonia Michaels acted as the master of ceremony for the event which she helped the student council put together with assistance from Diane Honeman, Karen McLeister and Darlene Jurgens.

The contestants were divided into 19 teams, comprising six students and two members of faculty each. Forty questions were fired at the teams with one minute allotted to each. The four teams with the highest score were declared winners.

Mariam Mohamed Al Shamsi , a member of the Student Council Association, took this opportunity to wish the President His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan good health and long life for his safe return home.

The students also presented songs to mark the National Day. Dar Zayed, the last song performed by the students with Nawal Habib, the organist, met with a thunderous applause. David Gross, the director of the college gave away the prizes.
