Teenager injured as vehicle crashes into Sharjah salon

Sharjah: A 17-year-old boy was injured when his car crashed into a hairdressing salon in the Al Khan area, Sharjah Police said.

The teenager was admitted to hospital and will only be discharged when his condition is stable.

According to police, the driver, who stays on the third floor of the building in which the salon is located, had just moved his car from where it was parked, in an effort to minimise the risk of damage from construction work at a nearby building.

Equipment damaged

He is said to have accidentally stepped on the gas pedal as he was parking next to the salon. The car lurched forward, crashed through the glass, hit the teenager, who is the son of the owner of the salon and also damaged equipment in the salon.

The owner of the salon, Othman Al Maliki, revealed that the accident occurred just a few minutes after the last client had left the salon.
