Around 25,000 members of the Dawoodi Bohra community live in the UAE.

Sharjah: Sultan Al Bohra Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the 53rd leader of the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community, arrived in Sharjah on Tuesday, June 3, to mark the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
He was warmly received by His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, director general of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai (IACAD), government officials, dignitaries and senior members of the Dawoodi Bohra community in the UAE. He last visited the UAE in 2023 for the Moharram congregations in Dubai.
“We are deeply honoured to welcome Sultan Al Bohra Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin to Sharjah on the blessed occasion of Eid Al Adha. His frequent visits to the emirates symbolise the strong bonds of respect and cooperation shared with the leadership of the UAE and his enduring concern for the well-being of community members living here,” said Dr. Mustafa Taher, coordinator for the Dawoodi Bohra community in Sharjah.
He added: “Our sincere gratitude to the local authorities for their continued support in organising his visit and for providing all the necessary facilities."
During his stay, Syedna Saifuddin is expected to meet with community members to inquire about their well-being and provide counsel and guidance. He is also expected to engage with local leaders to discuss matters of mutual interest.
The Dawoodi Bohra community has a long history in the UAE, with approximately 25,000 community members living and working in the country today. They are at the forefront of the UAE’s socio-economic development, contributing as industrialists, traders, and professionals across varied fields, as well as being present in various service sectors.
