The first Information Systems Student Association of the College of Information Systems at Zayed University, held an exhibition in Abu Dhabi campus yesterday showcasing student activities and accomplishments throughout their academic year.
The first Information Systems Student Association of the College of Information Systems at Zayed University, held an exhibition in Abu Dhabi campus yesterday showcasing student activities and accomplishments throughout their academic year.
May Al Taei, president of the association, said: "The students of the Information Systems College are very pleased to showcase all their practical applications run through the academic courses in the college."
Examples of this were demonstrated at the exhibition where the students presented flash presentations for their academic work and achievements.
They also showed a web site which they had established for the college using modern techniques and network connections based on their academic programs and courses.
"Another main objective of this exhibition is to give a clear understanding about what information systems are all about and to raise awareness regarding their importance in developing the UAE," Al Taei said.
Information Systems is converting data into useful information that will help organisations achieve their objectives such as decision making and strategic planning," she told Gulf News.
The association also hopes to invite guest speakers on campus and visit major companies in the near future.
Dr Charles Hewitt, Campus Administrator said: "ISSA has developed into a wonderful student association and their efforts in working with the faculty are very obvious in this well-planned and wonderful display of the college's achievements."
The exhibition was opened by Dr Hanif Hassan, Vice President of Zayed University and was attended by Mohammed Omar Abdullah, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Ahmed Shabab Al Dhaheri, Director of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, faculty members and students.
