One of the latest additions to the fast growing hospitality industry of the country, Fairmont Dubai hotel, lives up to its five-star status. Plush, contemporary and gloriously designed, it is a detour from the usual, with its steel finish and minimalistic design

If, on a hot day you step off the steamy kerb and into the Fairmont Dubai hotel lounge, you will be transported into the cool-blue, literally! We are not referring to the air-conditioning system that would no doubt be playing its part, but to the hip, contemporary lobby.

The sheer sense of space, the shades of blue, silver and grey, and a sense of stealth, leave you feeling like you are walking the ocean floor, but a designer one in this case, as you notice the squiggly lines defining the railings, table legs and the lines flowing on the pillars and walls.

The tastefully simple, and often single, floral arrangements perched around the place reinforce the ambience.

However, this is the not the end to it. Despite the cool, blue tones, it lights up rather festively at night time. The River Of Light - a panel of patterned glass sheet down the length of the atrium, delicately changes shades, while the glass-fitted lifts noiselessly glide up and down with lights on its rear.
