Sheikh Rashid's hat-trick helps crush Al Boom
Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai Club President, said that his team would bring in big names from outside the UAE to play in the Ramadan tournament at the Police Officers' club grounds.
"We are thinking of inviting big names in the coming stages as we want to create more excitement and enthusiasm," he said.
Sheikh Rashid also added that he planned to make the Ramadan tournament the biggest event in the coming years. It would, he stated, include world class players and the prize money would be the biggest for a football tournament in the UAE.
Sheikh Rashid was all praise for the participating teams in the tournament.
"They are doing well so far. I hope the best teams will qualify for the semifinals. All the teams have shown a good standard, however, we (Sheikh Rashid team) are ready to meet any team who qualify for the final. And as I said before, we are capable of clinching the title."
Sheikh Rashid led his team to their biggest win in the tournament when they crushed Al Boom village (7-1) in the match held on Sunday night. Sheikh Rashid scored a hat-trick with the fifth goal which was the goal of the match.
Mohammed Rabea, Khalid Darwish, Brazilian Nelson and Mohammed Salah scored the other four goals.
In the second match on Sunday night, in group A, Hisn Hatta demolished Emaar B (10-0), Saeed Abdullah, Salim Saeed, Saeed Mubarak each scored two goals, Salah Jamil, Abdulal Bojaara, Hasan Ahmed and Arel Blazmo each of them scored one goal.
