Shaikh Mohammad answers media

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has replied to questions from the media on recent developments making headlines in the business world and shared the federal UAE strategy on various issues.

The answers were posted Saturday on the official website of Shaikh Mohammad (www.uaepm.ae) that was launched in March to open a dialogue between him and the public.

Hundreds of inquiries from local and overseas newspapers poured into a section of the website reserved for correspondence with the media over the last few days.

Shaikh Mohammad replied to over 70 questions in the first e-session and they have been posted online at: www.uaepm.ae

"Naturally, there was some overlapping of questions since they came from so many different sources", wrote Shaikh Mohammad.

"Hence, I have tried to consolidate my answers in such a manner that I do not come across as repetitious".

The 'interview' addressed issues related to the worldwide economic downturn, UAE labour rights and the international media spotlight on Dubai, among other topics.

The Vice-President has also received questions from UAE nationals, which will be answered in a "subsequent communication".
