Rare planet parade in UAE skies on January 25

Dubai: Stargazers in the UAE are in for a very special occasion: A planetary alignment on the night of January 25.

The celestial treat will have Saturn, Jupiter, Venus and Mars appear in alignment, with the possibility of Uranus and Neptune also being spotted.

It said, “During an alignment, these planets come together in close proximity, creating a stunning visual display in the night sky. While each planet continues to follow its own orbit, from our vantage point on Earth, they seem to align, offering a unique opportunity to observe the distant worlds in harmony.”

DAG’s viewing event (from 6 to 20pm) will be ticketed, with prices starting at Dh100 for DAG members, Dh120 for children and Dh150 for adults.

After a Q&A session, viewers can expect a sky mapping session to decode the constellations in the night sky and a telescopic observation of the planetary alignment.

There’s also an opportunity for phone photography through the telescope with assistance from telescope operators, DAG added.
